General Question - Essay Example The principle motivation behind this technique for instructing perusing to schoolchildren is to give them instructional help and a solid reason for the improvement of understanding abilities. It requires educators' inclusion in the perusing procedure previously, during and after the perusing of a basal book. Phases of DRA There are a few roughly eight stages in the Direct-Reading Activity. Each progression accompanies a few desires and preferences to the learning of perusing abilities among kids. Stage 1: Choose a book and the point of perusing The initial step includes the instructor recognizing a given book in the basal peruser. This implies the educator should recognize a bit of the understanding content and distinguish the fundamental understanding methods and new jargon that can be scholarly through the peruser. This progression is to set the points, goals and reason for the entire exercise. This progression sets the system of the whole perusing and here, the educator will know the specific goals that must be met by the class. This can be a road for the instructor to control understudies through the different phases of the understanding procedure. This will empower the understudies to advance bit by bit through significant stages during the time spent figuring out how to peruse and understand data in a given book. Stage 2: Select jargon to be pre-instructed After the educator finishes up on the points and destinations of the perusing exercise within reach, the subsequent stage is to recognize new and abnormal words in the content. These words are frequently words that the understudies have not met previously or words that have connections to different circumstances that the kids are probably going to meet later on. These words are to be recognized and composed on the board for the kids to comprehend. It typically helps if the instructor clarifies the importance of the words just as the linkage of the word with different settings inside which the understudi es are probably going to meet later on. The prompt explanation behind this activity on jargon is to empower the kids to get acquainted with the more troublesome words that they are going to meet in the perusing. It empowers appreciation during the perusing procedure in light of the fact that the understudies become acquainted with the ramifications of those words and the setting inside which they are utilized in the content. The more drawn out term point of the pre-educating of words is to assist the kids with improving their jargon. This will assist them with acquiring new words that will empower them later on. Moreover, showing jargon before perusing additionally fabricates the origination of anticipating the importance of words by analyzing the setting inside which new words are utilized. This will help understudies in future cognizance assignments and assessments like SAT and other English language assessments. Inspire earlier information on the subject of text After the jargon is instructed and talked about, the educator should take sentiments and information presented from the class. This will incorporate talking about issues from the known to the obscure. This suggests the kids will be called upon to share fundamental information about what they think about the subject. In this way for instance, when you are to discuss a fox in the peruser, the instructor can get some information about the likenesses between the foxes and different creatures. Evident answers that are probably going to come about might incorporate a canine and different creatures. At that point the characteristics of a fox as a tricky animal or an animal that isn't so clear can be raised by bringing into comparable stories like smooth operator and

Taylor Perspective On Work Management Research Assignment (Research Paper Sample) Content: Scientific management theoryStudents nameInstitutional affiliationIntroductionFor hundreds of years, there have been the concepts of managing work such that the formal management ideas can be traced back to the 16th century. However, the essential developments as far as management theories are concerned emerged in the twenty century. For this reason, much of what we understand today in management studies is attributed the work of theorist of that time (Taylor,TotalBoox, TBX,.2016).Fredric Taylor was one of the greatest theorists who contributed greatly to concepts of work management theories. He had his philosophy in which he had believed that the idea of making people work very hard was not the efficient way of attaining desired productivity level. Instead, optimizing the manner in which work is done is the right way in achieving the same. In his theory, Scientific Management, Taylor tries to give descriptions on how scientific methods can be applied in the manageme nt of workers to improve productivity (American Management Association, 1959). According to his theory, Taylor points out that there are scientific methods that can be used to optimize the manner in which people perform tasks. Also, the same can be used to simplify the jobs in a way that will allow the workers to be trained to perform specific sequences of motions in the best way possible. Scientific management is considered to be one of the strongest and economic theories by an entrepreneur in the 20TH century. It consists of studies in time and motion, management of assignments as well as the theory of organization. Taylor put into perspective the study nature, character and performance of a worker. Also, this theory emphasizes on training, helping and teaching the worker on how best to perform tasks at hand (Edenborough, 2007).Taylor perspective on work managementAccording to Taylor, optimization and simplification of jobs will see an increase in productivity. Also, he is of the idea that workers and their respective managers should always consider corporate with each other (Armstrong, Armstrong, 2012). To support his augment, Taylor points out that in cases where there is no standardization, the worker only motivation is continued employment and that in such cases there are no incentives to work efficiently or as quick as possible. From the observations, most workers motivation was mainly money. Thus Taylor is for the idea of a fair days pay for a fair days work. This means that that worker who achieves enough deserves a better pay than the one who didnt achieve much (Couto, Plansky, Caglar,2017)Taylor was a mechanical engineer and that he took efficiency to be a very important aspect as far as work management is concerned. He performed experiments at the workplace so that he could be able to determine the optimal performance levels. His findings were that by finding out how much time is required time for the various task elements, the way to complete s uch a task could be devised. His studies on time and motion led to a conclusion that some people are more efficient than others. Therefore, managers should seek to hire such people if possible. That simply implies that workplace efficiency is affected by what kind of people is selected for the job (Alexander, 2008). Taking into perspective his findings, he comes up with principles of scientific management.Principles of Scientific ManagementTaylor disregards the initiative and incentive as the system that was used to motivate workers. He points out that the initiative and incentive system then provided incentives that saw an increase in productivity. But in this same system, the responsibility of how to do it is placed on the worker. The form of payment is just but the whole system. This is contrary to Taylors scientific management of which four principles guide it( Metzger, B. L., Profit-Sharing Research Foundation 1969)Taylor put down four principles that lay the foundation of his theory after he had conducted a workplace study. The first principles demand to find alternative methods that can replace the rule of thumbs methods of management. Such alternatives are scientific and that they provide managers with a chance analyze the problems facing the management in the organization (Taylor, F. W., American Council of Learned Societies, 2017). The scientific approaches were supposed to use experiments to try and come up with the solutions to the problem that exists within the organization. The second principle is that which involves scientific selection, training and also the provision of work development to workers. This was unlike the initiative and incentive system whereby the management was disorganized, and the workers have left the train and rule themselves on most duties. Application of this principle means that most qualified workers should occupy top ranks in any organization and that way they will assist other workers efficient and systematic manner. The application of systematic management meant that a payment system that takes into consideration the work efficiency and work output (Taylor, F. W. (2010). This principle increases efficiency as well as the management system in the workplace. The third principle requires that the management come up with formal working relations by embracing teamwork. This goes a long way in ensuring that methods that are scientifically developed are fully adhered to. The final principle requires that there is equal sharing of work between the managers and the other employees. In so doing, the manager will have a chance that enables them to utilize these principles of scientific management when it comes to strategizing on duties. Also, it will enable other employees to perform their tasks in a manner deemed timely.According to this theory, the success of these principles needs a mental revolution in management and labor. Instead of quarreling about profits, management and labor should strive to inc rease production. Therefore, profits will increase to a large extent that neither the employees nor management will fight over them. This simply means that both labor and the management have a sole interest to increase productivity.Criticism of the scientific managementIts worth noting that the scientific management theory increases the productivity. But despite of this fact, it has got its own setbacks. It was found to have an effect of leading to monotony at workplace due to the fact that workers get bored in many instances. This concept also, turned the worker to be like a machine which would be motivated to achieve maximum so as to get a monetary reward. It ideas can be misused by cruel managers who will take advantage and mistreat the employees under them. There was an uprising against its implementation that resulted in strikes (Waugh, 2006)Scientific management and modern-day business practiceIn this century, many of activities that are taking place at the workplace are in on e way or another influenced by Taylors scientific management theory. The cars people drive, food eateries people visit as well as hospitals in which people get treatment are influenced by scientific management principles. It has revolutionized management systems with time such that they accommodate new ideas as well as the changing variables in the workplaces. It has turned workplaces into areas of specialization whereby its only those that pose particular skills or experience is employed to perform certain duties. Owing to this fact, division of labor is a common phenomenon and that it has contributed greatly to innovation as well as production. Also, it has brought about the rise in competition given that there are a limited number of job opportunities that are available. This is unlike before when labor force was in a high demand (Howell, Dipboye, 1996).Due to this fact, most of the employees in different organizations seek to acquire more to retain their position or even get pr omoted. The most organization has resulted in the application of scientific methods of solving problems as opposed to the application of the rule of thumb methods (Bradt, Vonnegut, 2009). This has gone a long way in increasing efficiency whose results is an increase in profits. Its because of Scientific ...

Method Literature search This study began with a database search to locate all the current and relevant articles about workplace-based health promotion. A total of nine articles from the last ten years have been assessed for relevance for the study. Data Analysis To evaluate the studies, articles were entered into a literature review matrix, identifying the specific aims of the study, demographic, methods, major findings, limitations and article focus. Data were analysed using content analysis to produce a descriptive summary of the content. Results were independently reviewed within each article and data were analysed to identify the causes of behavioural changes. Results A total of nine articles from the nine original studies using qualitative and quantitative research methods met the criteria for inclusion in the study (9 articles with different research objectives with similar participants). Four out of nine stated that the most common cause of changes in behaviour is job satisfaction, followed by language and different values and beliefs. Four articles have been critically analysed to conclude that job satisfaction is the most common cause of behavioural changes in the workplace (Chang, Daly, Hancock, Bidewell, Johnson, Lambert, Lambert, 2006; Chang, Bidewell, W., Huntington, Daly, J., Johnson, Wilson,

Striking differences can be seen in the application of architectural theories presented and advocated by Alexander and Burnham. The manner and subjects of the two architectural manners vary in facets and arrangements distinct in their ain sense. Therefore. both manners serve to make development and development in their really ain distinct intent and go forth a long and permanent grade. Burnhamââ¬â¢s Style The architectural manner of Burnham and his advocators revolve around the issue of making something new and innovating new architectural manners. ââ¬Å"The cardinal ideological struggle environing the City Beautiful pitted innovation and invention against continuity and tradition. â⬠( Hines. 2004. p. 1 ) It is in this logic that the architectural manner is founded. In add-on. Burnham follows the way of design advocated by their European opposite numbers. ââ¬Å"Burnham and his associates saw the United States as a rightful inheritor to the traditions of Western civilization and take therefore to remember. celebrate. and use those traditions themselves. â⬠( Hines. 2004. p. 1 ) It is in this sense that he founded the term ââ¬Å"City Beautifulâ⬠. Looking at the capablenesss of such undertaking. ââ¬Å"the birthplace and push of City Beautiful planning was classical and Baroque in its accent upon emanations of edifices and unfastened infinites arranged in groups. â⬠( Hines. 2004. p. 1 ) There is besides another distinguishable aspect of this undertaking based on its consequence that contributes to the perceptual experience of the oculus. ââ¬Å"For the parallax consequence. it depended on the motion of the person. or the human emanation. through infinite from one specific point to another. â⬠( Hines. 2004. p. 1 ) Looking at its application. the ââ¬Å"City Beautiful boasts different patterns every bit far as the American architectural foundations that contribute to its beauty and magnificence. ââ¬Å"The impact on the person of this agreement. repeat. and ceremonial emanation was. in the Baroque and in the City Beautiful. calculatedly powerful. impressive. and traveling. â⬠( Hines. 2004. p. 1 ) Alexanderââ¬â¢s manner Christopher Alexanderââ¬â¢s manner revolves and emphasizes the importance of pattern creative activity in an architectural work. He referred and called this ââ¬ËPattern Languageââ¬â¢ . ââ¬Å"Alexanderââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Pattern Languageâ⬠describes a extremely structured aggregation of forms. intended as a practical usher for architectural interior decorators. â⬠( Sanders. 2001. p. 1 ) With respects to the particulars. ââ¬Å"the linguistic communication described contains 253 forms split into three wide classs. towns. edifices and building. â⬠( Sanders. 2001. p. 1 ) In the first portion. Towns looks into 94 pattern aggregations. However. it must be mentioned that there is more to it than merely apparent design. ââ¬Å"Alexander suggests that the interior decorator should believe about the issues which surround mundane and political life in a wider context when shiping any new undertaking. â⬠( Sanders. 2001. p. 1 ) Therefore. this manner is focused on the populations demands by agencies of making services and installations fit for the community. Buildings cover at least 100 forms that Alexander created. Again. like the town. Alexander had a intent and subject in his creative activity of edifices. ââ¬Å"In the design of a edifice Alexander draws upon psychological surveies in peculiar and suggests forms for the proviso of installations which these surveies recommend. â⬠( Sanders. 2001. p. 1 ) The edifices concentrate on making intent on every design given. In add-on. the design is deemed to co-occur with social forms present in urban life and be one with the proprietor of such edifice. The last portion of the forms consists of building. ââ¬Å"Having provided a definition for good edifices. Alexander coatings his aggregation of forms by specifying the right manner to build edifices. â⬠( Sanders. 2001. p. 1 ) These are elaborate suggestions on how to progress in building. One illustration is ââ¬Å"specifying categories of stuffs and approximative dimensions appropriate for assorted building undertakings. â⬠( Sanders. 2001. p. 1 ) Comparison The comparing of the two architectural manners will be dependent on its capablenesss in turn toing the cardinal facets of urban design. The two thoughts that shall be used are the ( 1 ) topographic points for people and ( 2 ) the ability to do connexions. First portion looks into facet that it must be topographic points for people. ââ¬Å"They besides need to be typical. offer assortment. pick and merriment. â⬠( Urban Design Compendium. p. 1 ) Looking at the manner of Burnham. he seeks to make an environment out on the issue of beauty elegance and magnificence. By accommodating European constructs and architectural manners. he can make and capture this design to suit the urban society in America. On the other manus. Alexanderââ¬â¢s manner focuses more on the individualistic and comparative penchants of people. By showcasing different options in his designs. his manner can be dynamic in turn toing varied demands of American urban society. The following portion looks into the manner urban design can do connexions with people. ââ¬Å"Places must be easy to acquire to and good incorporate both physically and visually with their milieus so people can travel about without attempt. â⬠( Urban Design Compendium. p. 1 ) In Burnham manner. he makes the connexion by easing the procedure of grasp which is denoted by the beauty and aesthetic constituents of his work. In add-on. he creates a nexus by transforming educational background of aesthetic architecture and puts it into pattern. On the other manus. for Alexander. decently integrating values and position in every form is one manner he creates connexion with people. It can be argued that his design of forms are founded and based on the current position of urban society. Alexander manner and pattern of duty in design has paved the manner for the creative activity of connexion with American urban society. Mentions Hines. Use An Ap Seminar Essay Sample For Your BusinessThere are a number of ap seminar essays samples that you can choose from when looking for writing samples. However, there are not many seminars and this is usually the reason why they do not hire anyone who has been a part of them before. An ap seminar is meant to put those in business on the same page, which means that their first meeting with one another should be made about your profession or your desired career path.At first, you will be given a little bit of the time to hear a few different lectures about different topics that are discussed during an ap seminar. The seminars are designed to help you gain a better understanding of the kind of ideas that business owners can understand. If you are not yet certain as to what you want to focus on, you should ask your business owner what he or she would prefer you to study. The point is to have a dialogue about different topics rather than just get lectured at.After having been involved in an a seminar, you may want to go back and look at the samples that are presented. Many times, these will have been slightly edited to remove the less interesting sections, which are also a result of proofreading the things beforehand. It is often the case that you want to get the gist of the things in the sample because of the fact that it is an outline to build upon. The outline can be broken down into smaller steps, which can be executed in order. You may even find that your business owner is able to help you think about different ideas in an organized way.The biggest advantage of going back to the sample is that you will be able to really understand what is going on. In fact, sometimes the original versions are too lengthy, which is why you can use the outline for planning purposes. Of course, if the outline was too long, you may have asked your business owner to look at a few additional things that were covered in the outline, but this is not the best way to do it. When looki ng at the sample, think about how much you want to read and what topics you wish to go into more depth on. You can always get a guidebook or a chapter from the sample that has been edited down. The biggest advantage of looking at a sample is that you can sit down and start reading at your own pace. You can always edit down the samples if you find that they are too long, but doing this will slow you down. The sample outlines may be shorter than a chapter that you may want to read, but this is only to be expected. It is not a common practice for seminars to make more than one chapter per sample. If you wanted to go back and look at the sample, you could find that it is still longer than you want to go into. It is also not something that should be relied on, as you are just looking for basic ideas. The outline may be very short, but make sure that you still have something that is helpful to you. This way, you will not feel so overwhelmed after having looked at the outline. Of course, you should ask questions about what the outline says as this will help you get a better idea of how the actual seminar is going to go.The outline can often be edited down in order to help you get the best out of the sample. However, do not feel that you have to follow it as the outline is intended to give you a general idea of what is going to happen. Try to follow the advice given in the outline in order to avoid any mistakes that could end up costing you time and money in the long run.
